This administration must be FORCED to act when it comes to Black folks. This case proves it, the public outcry has given President Obama food for thought. Had the marches, petitions and demands were not as loud or publicized as they became the Dept of Justice would not have acted. But someone pulled President Obama and Eric Holder coattails and reminded them that is an election year and although Blacks have been economically destroyed, the President will garner some support if his Dept of Justice investigate this case. They are late in acting, but better late than never. I'm sure Zimmerman will be charged with some Federal charges.
Lesson to Black folks if we want this President to act in our behalf we must put pressure on him . Send e-mails, faxes and call the WH to voice your concerns. Remember Obama only helps those he wants to win over and impress, if he thinks he's loosing Black support, he'll take his thumbs out and do something. His nightmare would be the lost of Black support, that's why the DOJ is acting now.

Just moments before Trayvon was shot and killed, he was on his cellphone talking with a 16-year-old girl. The girl is now speaking out about the last, horrifying moments of Martin's life.
"He said this man was watching him, so he put his hoodie on. He said he lost the man," the girl told ABC News. "I asked Trayvon to run, and he said he was going to walk fast. I told him to run but he said he was not going to run."
Trayvon eventually did run.

"Trayvon said, 'What are you following me for?' and the man said,
'What are you doing here?' Next thing I hear is somebody pushing, and
somebody pushed Trayvon because the headset just fell. I called him
again and he didn't answer the phone."
The line went dead, according to the girl's account.

Black Codes was a name given to laws passed by southern
governments established during the presidency of Andrew Johnson. These laws
imposed severe restrictions on freed slaves such as prohibiting their right to
vote, forbidding them to sit on juries, limiting their right to testify against
white men, carrying weapons in public places and working in certain
occupations.

After the American Civil War the Radical Republicans
advocated the passing of the Civil Rights Bill, legislation that was designed
to protect freed slaves from Southern Black Codes (laws that placed severe
restrictions on freed slaves such as prohibiting their right to vote,
forbidding them to sit on juries, limiting their right to testify against white
men, carrying weapons in public places and working in certain occupations).

In April 1866, President Andrew Johnson vetoed the Civil
Rights Bill. Johnson told Thomas C. Fletcher, the governor of Missouri:
"This is a country for white men, and by God, as long as I am President,
it shall be a government for white men." His views on racial equality was
clearly defined in a letter to Benjamin B. French, the commissioner of public
buildings: "Everyone would, and must admit, that the white race was
superior to the black, and that while we ought to do our best to bring them up
to our present level, that, in doing so, we should, at the same time raise our
own intellectual status so that the relative position of the two races would be
the same."

Radical Republicans repassed the Civil Rights Bill and were
also able to get the Reconstruction Acts passed in 1867 and 1868. Despite these
acts, white control over Southern state governments was gradually restored when
organizations such as the Ku Kux Klan were able to frighten blacks from voting
in elections.

places like Haiti, Barbados and America was much more cruel.

They made their billions in America but look at those in Africa.

Apparently, Zimmerman's propensity toward violence and aggression is well known in his community. Now once thing my Uncle Oscar reportedly said to my mother: "If one of us, who has a record of assaulting a police officer, had shot a WHITE CHILD, we know what would have happened to him by now. He'd be lucky if all they did was arrest him. Well, if Trayvon was MY SON, Zimmerman would ALREADY be dead.md I wouldn't care if they hanged me!" I'm really calling upon not only leaders and activists with the Black community, but men and women of good will in all communities, to combat this injustice by whatever peaceful and/or legal means availabld. Otherwise, other means or reaponse may be sought which are not so civil. I feel ya, and I'm no Al Sharpton fan in general, but I watched Trayvon's father and family lawyer on Sharpton's show yesterday and Sharpton was more responsible
with this approach than he has been in the past. And he gave the family a national platform to speak on whatever they wanted to speak on. In this matter, so far, Sharpton has done the family a service. Of course, he can't avoid but draw more attention to his network and show because that's automatic. But I feel ya.
